Just ASK | What Coaches Need to Remember

January 18, 2019 by Liz Carter

Even when you feel you know what best for your client, your job is to keep asking questions until the solution reveals itself to your client.

As a coach, you need to remember one thing above all else.

ASK!

Don’t “tell” — just ask!

It can be challenging.  This is true especially when we come from a training background where were are taught – and programed – to tell clients how and why to do things.

Obviously, coaching is very different. We need to ASK.

Keeping Your Business & Career Fresh and Relevant

January 14, 2019 by Liz Carter

You’ve likely been to someone’s facility and everything just seemed old. Some things that are “old school” are cool and interesting. But, and old chair (not an antique) in an office that looks beaten up is not appealing.

The same is true for someone’s website that hasn’t been updated in 2006.

The same is true for the content of a training course.

The same is true for the person’s style or personal brand.

The same is true for print materials, business cards, logos and other identifiers of you or your company.

You always need to keep things fresh, current, relevant, exciting and interesting to people.

3 Ways to Get New Clients Now

December 27, 2018 by Liz Carter

3 Ways to Get New Clients Now
Although there are endless ways to get clients, there are 3 ways to get clients NOW.
The first does not require any special technical skills or training.  It just requires you to take action.
Here it is…  Ask everyone you know if they know of someone who will benefit from your services. Yep, that’s it.  And, don’t have a cookie cutter answer for each comment or question.
Think about how you can specifically help that person they want to refer.  Ask thought-provoking questions about what they have done prior, why things may or may not have worked, and what they are ready to do now to get the results or outcome they desire.
REMEMBER, the person you are asking to refer a friend may be the one who becomes a new client.

Holistic Coaching vs Therapy | Types of Holistic Coaching

Holistic Coaching vs Therapy | Types of Coaching Holistic Coaching

Holistic Coaching vs Therapy

Therapists and counselors are recognized as experts who focus largely on cleaning up or completing old issues.

Coaching takes a different approach, reaching into the magical realms of manifestation, designing one’s life, and forwarding action to realize one’s dreams.

Coaches act as partners, helping clients to recognize their own abilities to find the right direction and to address challenges along the way.

Coaches are works in progress. They are in-the-making models of what it means to learn fully, be fully effective, and be on the path to creating a more and more joyful and fulfilling life. Therapists only model living what they view as normal.

How to Combine Coaching and Training

December 10, 2018 by Liz Carter

How to Combine Coaching & Training

Do you classify yourself as a trainer or a coach?  Or, are you both?  Does it matter?

Although there are different definitions of a “coach” and a “trainer” we have simplified it here for demonstration purposes.

A coach is someone who supports their client’s efforts and goals through questioning, motivational interviewing, resources, and compassion. There are many variables of these strategies based on the client and the type of coaching being provided.

A trainer is someone who helps their clients reach their goals by providing scientifically-based principles and techniques to achieve a very specific outcome.  Although there is also inquiry and “support” as there is in coaching, the main focus is on the application of specific principles and methodologies to achieve the life, health, business or sports goal.

Why will you want to master both skills?

Is Everything “Holistic” Coaching?  Should it be?

December 4, 2018 by Liz Carter

Is everything "holistic" coaching?  Should it be?
We’re serious about the statement that everything is “holistic” coaching.

You will likely agree once you read our reasoning.

As coaches, we strive to optimize the results for our clients, regardless of their desired objective.  You and I both know that there must be some type of balance and harmony for your clients while they pursue their dreams.

That’s an aspect of holism.

Even in cases when someone has massive goals such as doing the Ironman triathlon, writing a best-selling book, or building a new business; there must be some holistic balance.
