Your Ultimate Guide to a Healthy Holistic Lifestyle

If you’ve ever had an interest in holism, you have probably heard the expression “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts,” which is a great way to summarize holism, but what does that mean to you as a coach, or more importantly, what does this mean to your client?

The basic principles of holism are not new, having been around at least since the time of Hippocrates in the West, 2500 years ago, and even earlier in the Eastern healing traditions of Ayurvedic and traditional Chinese medicine. As you might suspect, the healers and physicians who practiced the art and science of holistic medicine all treated the whole person – body, mind, and spirit.

The word holistic denotes inter-connectivity. Prioritizing a Holistic lifestyle means understanding the importance of various factors in health, and how they are interconnected. It means that for a healthy lifestyle, one needs to take multiple steps in their physical and mental health and within their home. [Read more…]

The Importance of Indoor Air Quality in Your Home

January 4, 2022 by Liz Carter

Air Pollution in Your Home

We’ve covered why it’s critical to clean up your foods and personal-care products. Now it’s time to examine the chemicals in your home. A growing body of scientific evidence has indicated that the air within homes and buildings can be more seriously polluted than the outdoor air in even the largest and most industrialized cities.

At no other time in history have there been so many toxins and pollutants in our environment, particularly the home. The home is the No. 1 source for toxic chemicals.

According to the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), Common toxic chemicals found in the home are three times more likely to cause cancer than airborne pollutants. The EPA has also reported that nearly every American has 30 cancer-causing chemicals detectable in their fatty tissue.

This is another great reason to clean up toxic chemical products at home. It’s part of your preventive-medicine strategy.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency, the air within our homes can be five to 10 times more heavily polluted than outdoor air, even in the largest industrial cities. This is critical because individuals in Western industrialized cities spend up to 90% of their time indoors. One of the primary sources of this indoor air pollution is chemical cleaners, which also happen to be one of the easiest areas to fix. [Read more…]

What is Green Living?

October 7, 2021 by Liz Carter

As always, we want our clients to be healthy.  For most coaches, this means that we begin by inspiring clients toward end goals that support healthy lifestyles and behaviors. But many times, we overlook a few things.

Empowering and Repowering Your Clients

February 4, 2021 by Liz Carter

Reaching Holistic Goals

A great coach distinguishes his or herself by how well they empower clients to begin to take responsibility and take steps towards their holistic goals. Since it helps to identify and untangle some of the barriers that have kept them stuck, we want to look at what our client sees as important.

Your First Meeting and Assessment

Holistic goals that require change for our client are not going to happen overnight but we can usually organize a complete strategy for clients within the first couple of sessions. With this in mind, be sure to inform clients that your first meeting with them is really a conversation – about the fit between yourself and the client. It is also a time for assessing if Holistic Coaching is right for them.

How to Prioritize Holism in Your Lifestyle | Holistic Nutrition and Living

January 29, 2021 by Liz Carter

Holistic Nutrition and Living

The word holistic denotes interconnectivity. Prioritizing a Holistic lifestyle means understanding the importance of various factors in health, and how they are interconnected. It means that for a healthy lifestyle, one needs to take multiple steps.

Holistic health or lifestyle is a neglected thing in conventional medicine, which focuses on signs and symptoms and treating disease conditions. However, a holistic approach to health and nutrition forms the basis of most traditional forms of medicine.
