Wellness Tips That Create Success

Wellness Tips That Create Success

Most people want to achieve their health, fitness and wellness goals in a fast and efficient way. However, getting healthy is a process that requires a lot of commitment and consistency. The effort put toward success has many positive effects. So how do you stay consistent? Here are a few simple tips that can help you achieve health and wellness success.

Practice Mindfulness

Start the day with intention and focus by engaging in some mindfulness activities that can calm and center your mind. Mindfulness practice focus on being present and aware of what you are feeling, doing and sensing as it is happening. A seated meditation practice offers the opportunity for us to sit and be even though there are infinite things to do.

There is a wide variety of techniques available that include seated meditation, walking meditation, mindfully eating and just about any activity you do can take on a meditative quality and awareness.

Try meditating on your own or with a guided meditation app, taking deep, diaphragmatic breaths or sitting outside in nature for a few minutes. These are wonderful ways to create a positive experience in which to build your day around.

Eat Nourishing Foods

What better way to relieve stress than to indulge in foods and ingredients that can potentially bring about a positive shift in mood. One of the most beneficial ways to reduce stress and nourish the soul is by consuming stress-busting foods.

Food is our most natural form of medicine and a key ingredient in reducing our overall levels of stress and anxiety, but with grocery stores limiting the purchase of specific items and advising people shop less often, eating well can be difficult.  Shelf-stable staples such as frozen and canned produce, beans, and lentils will keep longer and are easy to incorporate into recipes.

It’s important to minimize our excursions to the grocery store to limit the spread of COVID-19. Your clients may want to consider online grocery shopping or home delivery options. Are they set on selecting their own items? Remind them to maintain a safe distance between themselves and others, wipe down surfaces with disinfectant wipes, avoid touching their face, and washing their hands before and after shopping.

Fuel your body with healthy meals and snacks throughout the day that contain whole, plant-based, and natural foods with minimally processed ingredients and added sugars.

Your body will thank you for feeding it delicious and nutrient-filled fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, whole grains, and healthy fats. You’ll be more equipped to be at your best at work and at home when you prioritize your nutrition.

Move Your Body

Whether it’s a morning Bootcamp workout, lunchtime run or walk or evening yoga session, build in blocks of time in your day to move your body, increase your heart rate, strengthen and lengthen your muscles and sweat.

You’ll be releasing endorphins, which will improve your mood and mental state and will have more energy and stamina to concentrate, meet deadlines, perform tasks, and collaborate with others.

Regular physical activity can improve quality of life and relieve stress, tension, anxiety, and depression. Remind your clients of the “feel good” sensation immediately following a workout.

If your client has children at home, incorporate them into your workouts and make it the PE portion of their day. Go for a walk, run or bicycle ride around the neighborhood, try a new activity like yoga, Put together a DIY obstacle course that includes physical activities like jumping jacks, pushups and squats. Then challenge your loved ones to virtual competitions.

Complete Your Three to Five Most Important Tasks

Know what you must do during your work hours and do it. Accomplish your work. Get things done. Then do it again tomorrow. You should also make looking for new clients a regular part of your work schedule. How much money you make and how much work you have will depend upon your initiative to always look for new clients.

Overall, you need to figure out how much you should be working, how many clients you should have at any given time, and how it fits into your schedule. Distractions and the undeniable comforts of home can become distractions to keeping to your schedule. You can, and should if needed, make your home working space distraction-proof. You can use online social media website blocking apps while you work. Work in real-time via cloud sharing so you are always up-to-date with your documents.

Trying to complete everything on your never-ending to-do list each day is a fast track to failure. However, being realistic, thoughtful, and strategic about the tasks you work on, will allow you to have a greater impact at work and in other areas of your life.

Pick those three to five tasks that will help move the needle on a project, increase revenue or help the largest number of people and you’ll be sure to feel successful at the end of the day.

Take Challenges in Stride

Take challenges, problems, and issues that arise during the day in stride and recognize that they’re simply opportunities to learn and grow.

Without these challenges, you wouldn’t be able to stretch your mind and problem-solving capabilities, practice resilience or have the flexibility to deal with a variety of situations. While not always easy, try your best to expect challenges to come your way and be prepared to face them head-on.

One of the things that can set you back is setting goals that are not attainable.  Set your goals high, but don’t overwhelm yourself or be too far-fetched in what you can possibly achieve. When setting those large goals, be sure to break those large goals into reasonable, smaller goals so you can feel motivated to take those on and achieve them. Small accomplishments lead to big achievements.

Reflect at the End of the Day

Taking time at the end of the day to reflect on what went well, what could have been better and what you’ll do to make tomorrow the best it can be, can go a long way in creating success in your life.

Having gratitude and perspective can also provide you with a sense of wisdom and hope as you complete the day and prepare for the next. Reflections can happen in the forms of writing in a journal, talking to others, or simply thinking to yourself.
