Holistic Coaching vs Therapy

Therapists and counselors are recognized as experts who focus largely on cleaning up or completing old issues.

Coaching takes a different approach, reaching into the magical realms of manifestation, designing one’s life, and forwarding action to realize one’s dreams.

Coaches act as partners, helping clients to recognize their own abilities to find the right direction and to address challenges along the way.

Coaches are works in progress. They are in-the-making models of what it means to learn fully, be fully effective, and be on the path to creating a more and more joyful and fulfilling life. Therapists only model living what they view as normal.

We all know that even the best coach is human, with inherent frailties and with new vistas to explore on the journey to wholeness.

Staying on the journey and experiencing the joy and excitement of being in the process of realizing our own dreams and purpose is part of what we model for our clients.

Coaching Clients can take on Many Forms

We have all heard of Life Coaches, Wellness Coaches, and even Nutrition Coaches. Somewhere along this continuum, we must make room for the Certified Holistic Life Coach (CHLC), and in doing so, we need to define what the CHLC does – coaching clients toward personal excellence along holistic pathways, using strong coaching skills and solid business practices.

But what else does a Holistic Life Coach do?

A Holistic life coach needs to have a commitment to nurturing others while having compassion for the client. This requires time, effort and discipline in order to meet the needs of your client.

Each client possesses an “inner healer” of sorts, which is something that is known to reside in our hearts. A proficient CHLC must also be able to listen and provide guidance. There are no shortcuts to the process of coaching a client to realize their full potential. Coaching people to thrive can be challenging and will demand your very best skills and strategies.

Why Holistic Coaching?

Holistic health and well-being are essential to overall life success. Now you can earn a credential and gain the skills to help your clients achieve this success.

Student Success Stories

Learning how to become a life coach at the Spencer Institute has been a great way for me to grow my coaching business. I really liked that I could work full time while learning life coaching on my own time schedule. Not only do I now have coaching clients, but I also attract more psychotherapy clients who choose me because I can offer coaching in addition to psychotherapy.

Earning the Spencer Institute's Wellness Coach Certification was an excellent addition to existing education and experience. I now have a highly successful blog, healthy cooking business, cook books and much more. The sky is the limit.
