Promoting Yourself and Growing Your Business as a Coach or Trainer

marketing strategies for trainers or coaches

A good coach will not only have necessary or required degrees and certifications from reputable organizations, but they will also have great references and testimonials.

You can expect your clients to interview you extensively about your background.

In an ideal situation, a  certified coach or trainer should have at least two years of experience working one-on-one with clients, face-to-face and preferably at least one year of general coaching experience following formal training. Some other qualities that clients will look for include professionalism, passion for your work, your confidence level, and your humility.

So be sure to show your strengths when you are meeting with a potential client. Typically clients seek a coach who can support them in their efforts and make them feel more confident.

Your client should be inspired by you and motivated by your abilities to help them make the changes that they need to in their lives.

Right now we have a great opportunity to influence how health and wellness coaching, nutrition, and training moves forward as valid career paths for any health or fitness professional.

Since the Spencer Institute and NESTA offer courses for the health wellness and fitness industry, we will draw from these program components to create the appropriate blend of introducing concepts, explaining content, and the application types.

Therefore, part of our time will be spent building a model, a coaching model, that is.

We have mentioned that a fair amount of coaching in the wellness industry involves lifestyle factors and change.

For most people, lifestyle choices have a direct effect on their health and the way that your client lives their life can determine their levels of health, wellness, and fitness.

A lot of our clients will come to us as a health educator who can help them to change their lifestyle behaviors.

This is most likely the result of coming to a higher sense of awareness that they need an ally, leader or coach, to work with them on their wellness.

This is typically a personal or uniquely individual concern.
